The OACIQ Discipline Committee suspended Sonia Carier’s licence for 90 days

Brossard, October 8, 2019 – Guilt and Sanction

The Discipline Committee of the Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) suspended Sonia Carier’s real estate broker licence for a period of 90 days for having minimized the scope of cannabis cultivation in a building while it was indicated in the brokerage contract that the building was used to grow cannabis. When reselling the same building, she failed to ensure that the fact that the building was used to grow cannabis is indicated in the Declarations by the seller of the immovable form and falsely told the assistant syndic that she was not aware that such a cultivation had taken place in the building.
